EducationI am a Civil Engineering graduate from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and have done extensive engineering work over the years using math of all kinds. Took extensive math courses in college including analytical geometry, trigonometry, calculus (4 semesters), differential equations and a course in engineering math. More recently, I have been working on adjusting very large property claims and preparing estimates for these types of losses. Did extensive work on losses in the World Trade Center neighborhood as a result of the 9/11/01 event. Have worked on preparing estimates for Hurricanes Sandy, Katrina, Ivan, Charley, Ike etal over the past 15 years .
ExperienceTutored our three children and four grandchildren in math and other subjects. More recently, have worked with various neighbors on their math problems. I'm told I work well with children and teens in the math realm. Would love to share the math knowledge with kids. People helped me when I was younger and I would like to do the same. References are available. Received an SAT math score of 650 before entering Northwestern. I have a life-long love of math.
HobbiesHave played music all my life. Played in HS and college bands and jazz combos. Instruments are alto, tenor, baritone, soprano sax, clarinet, bass clarinet. Am currently playing piano weekly in NYC. Math and music have always seemed naturally affiliated. Interested in sports, music history, current events, financial markets.
